It has been about 1 week since my surgery and I'm back to report. I'm very glad to see you all here on the other side! Going into surgery, I had this great sense of peace and I think that was from all the love and prayers send on my behalf. I was truly in awe and I saw so much love pour in and want to thank each and every one of you.
Let me start with a notice that I am still on heavy medication so my grammer and spelling may be a little off. Please forgive me. I will take us back through the surgery and give you all an update on how things are going.
So let's go back to last Wednesday, July 26th.

So let's go back to last Wednesday, July 26th.
At 5:30 am I reported to Mercy's Surgical Center. I was supposed to start surgery at 7:30 but they pushed it to 8:30 and never told us. So when we arrived they said they'd be happy to take up back once staff had actually arrived for the day. Normally, this would have increased my anxiety but I was doing well and the family just sat and talked for a few hours. They took me back and the family came and watched TV with me. I got on my royal hospital gown and some fashionable scrub shoes.
I was at peace. I met with the doctor and anesthesiologist. They hooked me up to an IV and that is about all I remember.
Waking up was a whole new ball game. I didn't apparently have too much amusing antics while under medication, besides telling my husband about a phantom Mimi (our cat) that I could see pacing around the room.
I came to with giant tubes up my nose that kept falling out of place. I also had my whole head wrapped in bandages which made my head really itchy. I spent 6 days in the hospital, most of which in the ICU. There were some bad days of pain but I powered through it. A lot of medications tore up my arms so I was left with a lot of bruises.
I've got incisions in my belly button, in and below my ears and under my chin. There are also incisions in my mouth. My jawline, chin, and nose are already very different. I'm excited to see how things progress as the swelling goes down.
More to come...
